Venkateswarlu passed away.

Last night "Dr. V" Venkateswarlu Pothapragada passed away peacefully in his sleep.  I administered pain medication 4 am - 4:15 am, which he received while sleeping. When I checked on him again at 5:03 am he had passed away.  I chose 4:43 am, October 6th, 2015 as the official time of death. (Central USA time, UTC -06:00)

October 5th

Venkateswarlu has not been awake or communicative since the last update, but he seems to be restful.  We are continuing medication for his comfort.

His hospice nurse reports that his heart rate is 77, his respiration is 16 breaths/minute, no skin mottling noted, slight cyanosis to the nailbeds of his toes.  She believes he is comfortable and that his condition is "day by day".

October 4th

Venkateswalu is in hospice care.  Today he is no longer taking food and water, only some oral care.  He is not talking, but sometimes nods or shakes his head to questions.  He is taking pain medications.  Our goal is to keep him in comfort.

He cannot receive many visitors as he needs to rest.  Your prayers will be appreciated.
