Dr. Venkateswarlu Pothapragada, 89, passed away on October 6th at his home while under hospice care. Cremation was performed in the afternoon, before dusk, on October 7th. Cremation ashes were immersed in Godavari River, Rajahmundry, India on Nov 1st with religious services performed as advised by family priest.
Born and raised in India, “Dr. V” spent most of his life in Minnesota. He had taught in University of Minnesota and was a retired Scientist from 3M. He loved science, tennis, traveling. He was active in local Hindu temples.
Preceded in death by father Venkatachalam, mother Mahalakshmi, ex-wife Sita Tata, son-in-law Ron Banet.
Survived by son Vijay (Satya Tata), daughter Jyothi Pothapragada and her son Shanti Pothapragada.
Also survived by brother Jaganath Rao (Kameswari), sister Annasuya (Gopalakrishna Mopidevi), brother Ramana Rao (Sasikala), sister Manga (late Ramalingam Wunnava), sister Padma(Surendra Mamidenna); and their family members.
Religious services followed by dinner will be on Sunday, December 6th at 4 pm at the SV Temple (7615 Metro Blvd., Edina MN 55439).
